LINDEN – The Western Boone boy’s basketball fell to North Montgomery, 51-44 in overtime on Friday in Sagamore Conference action.

This time, Western Boone gave up a lead in the fourth quarter. The Stars lead the game the entire second half and by as much as eight points in the fourth quarter before North Montgomery came back to tie the game.
“(North Montgomery) turned up the pressure defensively, trapped us, and forced turnovers,” Western Boone coach Kyle Spray said. “I’m disappointed for our kids because I wanted that for for them.”
Spray said his players have been very coach-able this year and have stayed focused on basketball while working hard.
Junior Brandon Burtner lead Western Boone in scoring with 17 points. Sophomore Luke Pearson scored 10 points for Western Boone and senior Jay Purdy had eight points on the night.
“We definitely played well enough to win,” Spray said. “I was happy with our kids’ effort, especially on defense.”
